Badan dah rasa lesu aje...selalu letih. Bila jogging petang petang atau balik dari aerobik memang letih badan tapi rasa segar minda. Memang tak ada jalan pintas kalau nak sihat ni..
Ha...bab kecantikan pulak, saya dah mula mengamalkan minum air masak 24/7. Memang nampak perubahan pada kulit, perut pun rasa lawas.. mula mula tu masa sarapan kena minum air masak saja, rasa macam nak terkeluar air tu balik. Heheh.. ye lah, kita dah biasa minum air panas, kopi ke milo ke...tiba-tiba kena minum air masak , memang tak kelasss!!! Orang putih kata , "fall off the wagon". Bila saya terjemah rasa pelik pulak.

Saya juga sekarang sedang mengambil Kawaii. Minuman berkolagen. Baru 2 malam minum.

The unputdownables

I bought these books years ago and I still havent gotten round to reading even one of them. Well, Chinese New Year holiday is looming ahead. I might have time to read the first series.

2014 Recapped

2014 has been a bittersweet year for me, my family and for my beloved nation. In January I had a miscarriage. The pregnancy was unexpected but I was over the moon. Beloved and the children were beside themselves. However, it was not meant to be. The whole ordeal was painful and it drained me physically and mentally. I cried for many, many days. Even now, I still grieve. Enough said..

2014 also marked the year that my children are growing up.  It dawned on me that they will be flying from their nest soon. Hence this story.... Hazim was offered to continue his studies in MRSM Merbok. Upon getting the text from MARA, I felt this inner peace settling over me. He would be in good hands now. All praises to Allah. You cant help but have high expectations on your firstborn. You will do well, Ajim...
2014 also was a big year for my little muffin, Nina. She sat for her UPSR. She had been blessed with dedicated school teachers and experienced tuition teachers. Through her hard work as well, she managed to score 5As. All thanks to Allah. I reckon I aged a few years the day she obtained her results. It was nerve wrecking. I wouldnt want to go through it again but I know I have to. Wafi will be facing his UPSR in the next few years.
2014 was also the year that beloved had a harsh wake up call. For a few months, he suffered this excruciating pain on his kidney. The symptoms were there. I begged him to go and have a check up. Being a typical Malay man, he brushed it off assuring me that it was not something serious. Well, it was... serious I mean. When we went to Metro Hospital, the doctor confirmed it was gall bladder.  He had to undergo a surgery. Alhamdulillah he is alright now..Before he was discharged, we had a long talk with the nutritionist. The list of food to be avoided is so long...I doubt whether beloved can faithfully stick to the recommended diet. I was pleasantly surprised though. Until today, he is making the effort to change his lifestyle. Bravissimo!!
2014 was the year that 2 Malaysian airplanes went down.... Ahhhh... the grief, the sorrow and these feelings of despair rocked my beloved nation. I didnt have anybody i know in the airplanes but it still left me feeling sad and bewildered.. My prayers for all the victims and my heartfelt condolences to victims' families and friends.
So, that's it. I have let it all out. I feel better now..

Overprotective

It's only right for a mother to want to protect her children from any heartache, from any harm or from any pain, be it physical or emotional. These last few days have been a trying time for me. Listening to Nina's account on how her best friend refuse to talk to her just makes me sad. I know that I need to take a step back and let her figure out what to do next. If I keep on meddling in all her affairs I will only bring more harm than good. However, it's easier said than done. Hope she will be able to go through this obstacle with her dignity intact and her head held high. Amin...

KL Shopping Trip

Heaven!! Minggu lepas, rombongan Cik Kiah telah menggemparkan KL. He..he..he..Wafi, kakak dan abangnya memang menunggu-nunggu KL trip ni.

Isn't it cute

Vote Swing

The title above does not have anything to do with politics! I am not going to write about our country' political scenario. Let the experts do that. Anyway, the politicians bickering is making me sick to my stomach. So I am going to write about the radio station which is garnering popularity day by day. Red FM Breakfast Show is my new favourite show. Every morning on my way to work, I would usually tune in to Hitz.FM. However, since Sarimah and Lil' Kev were hired as the new DJs for Red FM, I am their biggest fan.  They have this amazing chemistry and I love the way they joke around. It is usually so hilarious!! Goodbye Hitz. FM!! Your Gotcha calls are mean and not funny!! Please come up with a new segment or your listeners would really swing their votes to Red.FM..

2012 - Quarterly Observation

True enough, 2012 is a year to remember:
  • My mother came back from her Umrah pilgrimage looking happy, healthy and contented. Alhamdulillah! She is such a darling person; reserved, loyal, full of love and unassuming! If I were to cut her into two, I still cannot be half of her.
  • Beloved has adjusted well with his new job. He is still learning the ropes but being a workaholic, I'm sure he'll get the hang of it real soon!
  • When it comes to workouts and exercising, I am becoming lazier by the day. Seriously need to change this attitude. I have become rather complacent about this exercising regime. I hope I can be motivated enough to do some weight lifting. However, it is easier said than done..Sigh..
  • My love for Korean Drama has not diminished. In fact, I plan to do Korean Drama marathon this coming semester break!! Cant wait!!

Fare thee well!!

My best friend is leaving me!! She got a promotion a few days ago. I have to admit, it is a wonderful offer. What is so not wonderful about it is , if she decides to accept it, she will have to go to Kolej Matrikulasi Pahang in Gambang. Somehow, if she's not here anymore it won't be the same. Sometimes we are so attuned to one another that we don't have to say it out loud. We really can understand each other's thoughts and feelings. That is the degree of our closeness. I know this separation from her husband and  family will make her sad. The word sad is not really appropriate in this context. Is there one word that means sad, devastated, teary eyed and miserable? Does it have to come to this? Why are they so blind to our plight? Aren't they someone else's husband, wife, son and daughter too?

Wedding Anniversary

15 years ago on the 13th of February 1997 I made a solemn promise to myself, my husband and God that I will be a good wife and a good mother to my future children.  Well, if truth be told I might have broken this promise a few times during the 15 years. I lost my patience, I lost my cool and sometimes I succumbed to my childish behaviour, sulking!! However, I have never stopped praying and trying to be a good wife and a good mother! The same goes to my husband, who tries his best to be the best husband and the best father to our children. Reflecting the 15 years that we spent together, I can safely say it's not always a walk in the park. However, I cherish every moment, good and bad. I hope that 15, 20 or 25 years to come will not change the love that we have for each other. I love you bang, warts and all!!

Obsessed

It started out innocent enough. I was bored, no good books to read and plenty of time to spare. So, I called my sister Syera to lend me some Korean drama series. She gave me Personal Taste starred by the popular actor Lee Min Ho. Well, I think you know the rest of the story. I was hooked. I don't know why maybe because the storyline is refreshing and the actors are talented and funny. I am the sort of person who doesn't do anything by halves. I will surely go the whole nine yards. So I watched another and another. However, right now, I am taking a break from Korean drama. Not because I want to. I need to keep control of this addiction. I am going to resume my new interest when I am totally free. Right now, it's a big No because watching these series late at night and waking up early the next morning is not working for me. Ermm.. being forty and all......

2012 ( So Far...)

Year 2012 started off slowly for me. No big bangs or  dramatic events. Well, I am fine with that. These are a few significant moments that have happened so far....

  • I have recovered from my bout of flu. Not really hundred percent though but I am getting there.
  • Wafi has found his appetite again. He is so skinny. Hopefully he will gain a few pounds.
  • What about my weight? I think I gained a few pounds but who's counting! ha..ha..ha..
  • Beloved got a new job. Alhamdulillah. Hope this year will be less stressful for him. He has been under a lot of pressure lately so it is really affecting him physically and mentally.
  • Both Hazim and Nina are appointed as prefects in their own school. They sure look good in their blue uniforms. (proud mother talking!!)
  • My mother is alone again, now that school has started (sigh!). Wish things were different, wish my father is here. Thank God she will go for her Umrah pilgrimage soon. Something to look forward too. You are always in my prayers, Mak!!

Slowly but surely 2012 will make it's mark in my life. Hope and pray for the best!!

    A short getaway

Based on the feedback from my friends, Langkawi Island, Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands (to name a few) are not the places to go during school holidays. They will be crowded with people and knowing myself  I would not be able to enjoy it. However, we did promise the kids that we would take them somewhere. So last weekend, off we went to Penang Island. Both my husband and I took Monday off . We planned to spend the night there on Sunday and leave on Monday. We went to Flamingo Hotel first to book a room. The receptionist said there were no rooms available. Then we tried Tanjung Bungah and Copthorne. Still disappointed! Finally around 1 p.m. we managed to get a room at Hydro Hotel (formerly known as Feringghi Beach Hotel). The kids were ecstatic because the pool was big and just splendid. The rest of of the day was spent frolicking in the pool and watching Dragon Boat Race at Teluk Bahang. At night, we combed Feringghi area to window shop at Feringghi Walk. The next day, again, the kids insisted that the pool was the best place to hang out. As usual, whenever we spend our time around places with water, I will be the keeper of clothes, bags and etc..Check out the photos I have captured.

    The view from our room

    Watching Dragon Boat Race
    Teluk Kumbar
The kids cant wait to dive in the pool

    Snake and Reptile Farm-Perlis

When it comes to creepy crawly and slithery animals, I just stay away from them. I dont know why I am squeamish but I am... So, after spending half of our day at Wang Kelian, my husband wanted to make a stop at Snake and Reptile Farm. At that time, I thought ohhh... okay, I would just sit in the car and wait for them. However, my husband managed to persuade me to come along too. After 10 minutes being surrounded by all types of snakes I took the nearest exit because I wanted to throw up!! These are some photos that were taken before my queasiness started, he..he..he..

Wang Prachan and Wang Kelian-Border Weekend Bazaar

Can you imagine how hot it is?
    Padang Besar signboard
some of the things sold there
    my little muffin
    Panca Sitara
    Sweet young things
    I couldnt stand the heat
Finally Wafi got his angry bird soft toy
Wang Prachan and Wang Kelian are popular border weekend Bazaar. As we have never been there, my husband and I decided to bring the kids and in-laws there. A few days before going, I googled Wang Kelian. All of the information mentioned have one similar factor, the heat!! The temperature there could reach 40 degree Celcius. Wow! So on that day, I made sure that the kids wear their caps. Wafi made a fuss but I stood my ground. So, he had to wear his cap even though he didnt want to. He..he..he..
My advice to those who want to go to Padang Besar, make a stop to Wang Kelian first because the goods there are relatively cheaper. I didnt spend much but I made a mental note that should I ever come again,  I am going to buy comforter/soft mattress. We left the place around 1.30 pm. Then we stopped at Taman Reptilia. I will tell my experience with the much dreaded reptiles in my next entry.

    We won!!!

    my group members
Today our group represented by Jaseemah presented our action research paper in Bengkel Pelaporan Hasil Kajian R&D in Emerald Puteri Hotel in SP. There were 14 groups altogether and almost all of them are experts in their own field. Compared to them we are novices. So, when the result was announced, we were surprised but delighted to know that we came in second place! Before the result was announced, I told myself that I'm not going to do this research thingy anymore. Clash of wills and time constraint are few of the factors that made me think twice to do it again. So when the MC announced the winners, the word surprise is really an understatement. We thought we would only get the complimentary certs. I could still recall my group members' faces. He..he..he..

    Yay!

    Posing with the hamper
    Again but sitting position, he..he..he

Sayang betul hari tu, katerer datang lambat. Ramai ibu bapa yang balik dulu sebelum menikmati jamuan makan tengahari. Kami pun selepas menunggu selama sejam , mengambil keputusan untuk beredar. Walaupun terbit rasa kasihan pada Kak Hajar (Pengetua Tadika) tapi kerana komitmen lain terpaksa langkah kaki. Apa apa pun, Wafi seronok sekali dapat nyanyi lagu Balik Kampung atas pentas dengan kawan kawan 5 tahunnya..

    Your Name

I wrote your name in the sky
but the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
    and forever it will stay.

Thank You Harimau Muda~26th Sea Games Jakarta Palembang

This entry is a tribute to Harimau Muda Football Team. Thank you for the gold medal. Despite the malicious attacks by the Indonesian media, the raucous and fanatic Indonesian fans you guys managed to overcome it all and beat the unsporting and ungracious hosts. You roared like true tigers! Bravo!
