I bought these books years ago and I still havent gotten round to reading even one of them. Well, Chinese New Year holiday is looming ahead. I might have time to read the first series.

2014 Recapped
2014 has been a bittersweet year for me, my family and for my beloved nation. In January I had a miscarriage. The pregnancy was unexpected but I was over the moon. Beloved and the children were beside themselves. However, it was not meant to be. The whole ordeal was painful and it drained me physically and mentally. I cried for many, many days. Even now, I still grieve. Enough said..
2014 also marked the year that my children are growing up. It dawned on me that they will be flying from their nest soon. Hence this story.... Hazim was offered to continue his studies in MRSM Merbok. Upon getting the text from MARA, I felt this inner peace settling over me. He would be in good hands now. All praises to Allah. You cant help but have high expectations on your firstborn. You will do well, Ajim...
2014 also was a big year for my little muffin, Nina. She sat for her
UPSR. She had been blessed with dedicated school teachers and experienced
tuition teachers. Through her hard work as well, she managed to score
5As. All thanks to Allah. I reckon I aged a few years the day she
obtained her results. It was nerve wrecking. I wouldnt want to go
through it again but I know I have to. Wafi will be facing his UPSR in
the next few years.
2014 was also the year that beloved had a harsh wake up call. For a few months, he suffered this excruciating pain on his kidney. The symptoms were there. I begged him to go and have a check up. Being a typical Malay man, he brushed it off assuring me that it was not something serious. Well, it was... serious I mean. When we went to Metro Hospital, the doctor confirmed it was gall bladder. He had to undergo a surgery. Alhamdulillah he is alright now..Before he was discharged, we had a long talk with the nutritionist. The list of food to be avoided is so long...I doubt whether beloved can faithfully stick to the recommended diet. I was pleasantly surprised though. Until today, he is making the effort to change his lifestyle. Bravissimo!!
2014 was the year that 2 Malaysian airplanes went down.... Ahhhh... the grief, the sorrow and these feelings of despair rocked my beloved nation. I didnt have anybody i know in the airplanes but it still left me feeling sad and bewildered.. My prayers for all the victims and my heartfelt condolences to victims' families and friends.
So, that's it. I have let it all out. I feel better now..

Overprotective
It's only right for a mother to want to protect her children from any heartache, from any harm or from any pain, be it physical or emotional. These last few days have been a trying time for me. Listening to Nina's account on how her best friend refuse to talk to her just makes me sad. I know that I need to take a step back and let her figure out what to do next. If I keep on meddling in all her affairs I will only bring more harm than good. However, it's easier said than done. Hope she will be able to go through this obstacle with her dignity intact and her head held high. Amin...

Vote Swing
The title above does not have anything to do with politics! I am not going to write about our country' political scenario. Let the experts do that. Anyway, the politicians bickering is making me sick to my stomach. So I am going to write about the radio station which is garnering popularity day by day. Red FM Breakfast Show is my new favourite show. Every morning on my way to work, I would usually tune in to Hitz.FM. However, since Sarimah and Lil' Kev were hired as the new DJs for Red FM, I am their biggest fan. They have this amazing chemistry and I love the way they joke around. It is usually so hilarious!! Goodbye Hitz. FM!! Your Gotcha calls are mean and not funny!! Please come up with a new segment or your listeners would really swing their votes to Red.FM..

2012 - Quarterly Observation
True enough, 2012 is a year to remember:
- My mother came back from her Umrah pilgrimage looking happy, healthy and contented. Alhamdulillah! She is such a darling person; reserved, loyal, full of love and unassuming! If I were to cut her into two, I still cannot be half of her.
- Beloved has adjusted well with his new job. He is still learning the ropes but being a workaholic, I'm sure he'll get the hang of it real soon!
- When it comes to workouts and exercising, I am becoming lazier by the day. Seriously need to change this attitude. I have become rather complacent about this exercising regime. I hope I can be motivated enough to do some weight lifting. However, it is easier said than done..Sigh..
- My love for Korean Drama has not diminished. In fact, I plan to do Korean Drama marathon this coming semester break!! Cant wait!!

Fare thee well!!
My best friend is leaving me!! She got a promotion a few days ago. I have to admit, it is a wonderful offer. What is so not wonderful about it is , if she decides to accept it, she will have to go to Kolej Matrikulasi Pahang in Gambang. Somehow, if she's not here anymore it won't be the same. Sometimes we are so attuned to one another that we don't have to say it out loud. We really can understand each other's thoughts and feelings. That is the degree of our closeness. I know this separation from her husband and family will make her sad. The word sad is not really appropriate in this context. Is there one word that means sad, devastated, teary eyed and miserable? Does it have to come to this? Why are they so blind to our plight? Aren't they someone else's husband, wife, son and daughter too?

Obsessed
It started out innocent enough. I was bored, no good books to read and plenty of time to spare. So, I called my sister Syera to lend me some Korean drama series. She gave me Personal Taste starred by the popular actor Lee Min Ho. Well, I think you know the rest of the story. I was hooked. I don't know why maybe because the storyline is refreshing and the actors are talented and funny. I am the sort of person who doesn't do anything by halves. I will surely go the whole nine yards. So I watched another and another. However, right now, I am taking a break from Korean drama. Not because I want to. I need to keep control of this addiction. I am going to resume my new interest when I am totally free. Right now, it's a big No because watching these series late at night and waking up early the next morning is not working for me. Ermm.. being forty and all......

2012 ( So Far...)
Year 2012 started off slowly for me. No big bangs or dramatic events. Well, I am fine with that. These are a few significant moments that have happened so far....
Slowly but surely 2012 will make it's mark in my life. Hope and pray for the best!!
- I have recovered from my bout of flu. Not really hundred percent though but I am getting there.
- Wafi has found his appetite again. He is so skinny. Hopefully he will gain a few pounds.
- What about my weight? I think I gained a few pounds but who's counting! ha..ha..ha..
- Beloved got a new job. Alhamdulillah. Hope this year will be less stressful for him. He has been under a lot of pressure lately so it is really affecting him physically and mentally.
- Both Hazim and Nina are appointed as prefects in their own school. They sure look good in their blue uniforms. (proud mother talking!!)
- My mother is alone again, now that school has started (sigh!). Wish things were different, wish my father is here. Thank God she will go for her Umrah pilgrimage soon. Something to look forward too. You are always in my prayers, Mak!!
Slowly but surely 2012 will make it's mark in my life. Hope and pray for the best!!

Thank You Harimau Muda~26th Sea Games Jakarta Palembang
This entry is a tribute to Harimau Muda Football Team. Thank you for the gold medal. Despite the malicious attacks by the Indonesian media, the raucous and fanatic Indonesian fans you guys managed to overcome it all and beat the unsporting and ungracious hosts. You roared like true tigers! Bravo!

Car wash and monsoon season
I have been making trips to car wash quite regularly these days. Rainy days and newly washed cars do not get along fine. Sigh!

Mr Bean, Rowan Atkinson and Johnny English (in that particular order)
I have never fancied Mr Bean. Even though these series have huge followers , I don't really like this fictional character. Personally, I think that Mr Bean is a self centered, mean, stingy, socially inept and pathetic man. It boggles my mind when all of my children love Mr. Bean. The physical comedy doesn't really attract me to watch his shows. Being a woman who sometimes ruled by emotions, somehow it makes me dislike the actor himself, Rowan Atkinson. However, I was surprised to discover that this actor is actually a very intelligent guy. He is an engineer by qualification and surprise, surprise, he is an Oxford University alumni. My impression of this actor took a 180 degree turn when I watched a few of his movies, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Lion King and Mr Bean's holiday. So, last weekend my family and I went to watch his latest movie, Johnny English. I have read some reviews and all of them were positive. As my husband and I really need a break, we thought that this movie is our answer. We were not disappointed, I think I laughed from the beginning until the end. I'm sure this movie will not win any Oscar awards but if you are in need of a good laugh then Johnny English will be able to provide some.

Total Office Madness
For the past two weeks my colleagues and I are experiencing total office madness. Datelines, quizzes, unmarked scripts, keying in students' marks and ISO auditing. If that are not driving you insane, I don't know what else can. Plus, I have to give extra coaching to students who I feel are not ready for the Speaking Quiz. Tomorrow is the dateline for keying in Ongoing Evaluation marks. After that, my friends and I plan to hold a pot luck session next week to relax and unwind. Can't wait for that day!
